Visit us at Wilmslow Artisan Market Saturday 18th May. At our usual spot on Grove Avenue we will be launching ‘Making the Transition; a Green Infrastructure Plan for Wilmslow‘. Manchester University students have completed their audit of local green spaces and made recommendations on how we can capitalise on and develop our green infrastucture. This is a really important document that can make a significant impact on future plans for Wilmslow and Handforth. Come along and find out what it’s all about!
Following on from the successful strategy workshop in December which reviewed the overall aims and objectives of the landscape project, we are now proposing to get into the detail with some hands on work. At this workshop on 9th February we will draw on the full range of information from the desk study work that Jonathan Porter has assembled in the first stage of the project.
The objective is to produce a draft landscape character map for Wilmslow (including Handforth and Styal) covering both the built up area and the surrounding countryside. This will not only be a valuable template for our work in Transition, but will also help us in responding to the consultation on the Local Plan for Cheshire East.
We are keen to have input from anyone who wishes to contribute, irrespective of whether you have previously been involved, and would particularly like input from a cycling perspective.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks, biscuits and fruit will be available but we would ask if you could bring along a packed lunch as, due to the leisure centre rules, we are not able to provide any food in the meeting room. However you will be able to buy food at leisure centre cafe. The workshop will run from 10am to 3pm at Wilmslow Leisure centre.
